Life-Changing Guacamole

Need some creaminess in your sandwich? Guac.
Wanna bring something to a party that’ll transform your social experience? Guac.
Oh, a solution to all your problems, you ask?


Think a spice can’t do much for you since it’s only, well…a spice?


Cumin is known to aid in digestion, and is also a great dietary source of iron, for all you anemic folks out there. Even better, cumin is packed with vitamin C and vitamin A, both essential for boosting the immune system. Yeah, okay, it looks like dirt, but it’s good dirt. Promise.
MUY IMPORTANTE: The second you get all your avocados mashed, immediately add the citrus and mix it in. The citric acid in the lemon/lime prevents the avocado from oxidizing, and trust me, you don’t want brown guacamole. Looks like poop.

If you’ve got leftovers (we doubt it), simply squeeze lemon or lime juice all over the top layer of the guacamole and cover tightly with plastic wrap (or glass container), and set it in the fridge. Worst case scenario, if it browns a little bit, just skim the top layer off with a spoon and enjoy what’s underneath.

3 large or 5 small hass avocados
1 small roma tomato, small dice
1/2 cup cilantro, finely chopped
1/2 cup white onion, small dice
1 lime (or 1/2 lemon), juiced
1-2 cloves of fresh garlic, crushed
1 tsp serrano (1/2 pepper), minced
1/2 tsp ground cumin
salt and pepper to taste
Mash the avocados with a fork in a large bowl.
Once mashed, add the citrus juice to the avocados immediately and incorporate well.
Combine the rest of the ingredients with the avocado mixture.
Salt to taste.
